The Newport News Bar Association is active in the community and believes in supporting Newport News and the Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia.  The Community Service Committee is open to all active and associate members of the Newport News Bar Association.

In the past, the Newport News Bar has partnered with the Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia to host a pro bono clinic on bankruptcy.  In addition, our members can be found in the Newport News Public Schools for Career Day and for special presentations, such as the program put on by the Association at Heritage High School.  Members have also participated in mock trials at both the high school and college level.  The Marshall-Wythe Law School at The College William & Mary has invited the Newport News Bar Association to participate in its Bar Association showcase and various activities.

This past year, the Association and local judges participated in a panel at Christopher Newport University where they spoke with the pre-law students.

The Board and the Community Service Committee has a number of other activities planned and would welcome any and all assistance.
